This game ruined me in the most beautiful way.
I was thrown into the utterly jarring and alien world of Tyko's Dying Together until it slowly became disturbingly familiar and recognizable. As it became recognizable I could feel the dread rising in me before I even knew what felt so familiar about it. You see, this is not a game, not really. Tyko's Dying Together, to me, is the distilled terror of living, the trauma of existence, the realization of meaninglessness that slams into you at some age and can't be shaken off.
I set after goals - to help this clown, to learn this language, to get a response from the angel statue, and above all else to explore the world and figure out what the creator's intentions were. But oh, so, gradually, all hope and meaning is burnt before me until I'm left with... what? With an angel that now only channels the void and an ego that occasionally puts up some meaningless demand? The parallels between uncovering Tyko's and the destructive pain of growing up are utterly unnerving. By the time I caught onto Tyko's it was too late, it had already seeped into my mind and even quitting it wouldn't stave off the existential nightmare.
Am I reading into this game too much? Probably. Do I care? No. In fact, it's hard to care about anything after this game. Yes there are endings to Tyko's, but none of the ones I've achieved (and I played for hours) changed anything about my experience. The end was simply not the point.
In all seriousness, after hours of playing Tyko's I simply cracked. I flew across the worlds and in some bizarre way found they were beautiful. What am I in this game? I am not the thoughts of the ego, the body. I am not the angel. I am the pure unfiltered experience itself - fundamental consciousness - and if I can't find beauty in the meaningless worlds of Tyko's then what hope is there when I close the game. Walkedoutneimans, please keep creating - you have something special here.

hmm i actually don’t know, steam deck can run gzdoom games i think but this one has kind of an odd control scheme, it’s free to download tho so maybe it’s worth a shot

I discovered this game recently through instagram and I love it so much!! I have gotten two endings so far (human being reincarnation and limbo) and I'm excited to find more. The aesthetic design reminds me of early 2000s internet and i love it. ++ I love the background sound/music too, definitely adds to the atmosphere

I really wanna give this game a try, however when I extract the files and click on the shortcut inside the game folder, it says "cannot find innocent.exe. I tried also running the map on gzdoom itself and it could not work.

This game is sooo cool but unfortunately I have a bug where everything is tilted :(
UPDATE ON THE SCREEN TILT ISSUE: i added the stock gzdoom options menu into the game which should allow anyone with this glitch to mess with the settings until something fixes it. i'm not a fan of this menu as 90% of the controls r junk but if you go to display settings and change the fov or the rendering api and/or the renderer it will probably fix this problem. i think the issue was that the software renderer tweaks out on some newer machines. for anyone reading this comment who doesn't have the screen tilt glitch just dont open the options menu because i don't like the font and i think it's ugly

i’m aware of this rare glitch but I’m not totally sure why it happens. i would suggest making sure all your drivers are updated and if that doesn’t work perhaps download a fresh copy

I tried but the glitch is still there even on a new copy
damn sorry to hear that, i know of another case where a software update fixed it, i am at a loss for why this glitch happens but it might have something to do with graphics card compatibility, i will keep digging

I would give the game a 9/10.
First off, I love this aesthetic. I was brought to this game by I believe a video from the developer on Tiktok. I am curious if this game was inspired by an older game called "LSD dream simulator". The teleport mechanics remind me a lot about that game.
Additionally, I love all the little elements like the angel in your head speaking to you, the telephone booth, and the cell phone you to take pictures with create a curious tone to the game.
I love this game very much. Kudos to the developer.
